A man has been arrested after PolAir tracked a car from Regency Park to Burton this afternoon.
Just before 2pm Friday 10 January police spotted a black VE Holden ute driving erratically on Grand Junction Road before it turned south onto Gallipoli Drive. Checks revealed the ute was baring stolen number plates. Patrols did not pursue the vehicle but called for the assistance of PolAir who happened to be in the area.
PolAir was able to follow the ute as it travelled south then turned east on Regency Road and back north along Churchill Road. The car cut through the back streets of Kilburn before heading north on Prospect Road, it travelled through Enfield, Mawson Lakes, Paralowie and into Burton.
Thew ute was successfully spiked as it travelled north on Bolivar Road at the intersection of Burton Road, and came to a stop a few hundred metres later. The driver ran from the car east through a paddock.
Police surrounded the area and arrested the 32-year-old man on nearby Jessie Road. The man has been taken to hospital for a medical assessment. He is expected to be charged with a number of offences.
