Aggravated robbery arrests in western suburbs

08 Jun 2024 8:45pm

Five people have been arrested following a service station robbery at Pennington tonight.

About 6.20pm on Saturday 8 June, patrols were called to a service station on Torrens Road after reports a group of girls entered and stole items from inside.

Police will allege one man remained outside and acted as a lookout.  A worker inside locked the door and one suspect approached him and threatened him with a hammer.  The worker unlocked the door and the five suspects left on foot heading towards Addison Road.

PolAir were already overhead and guided patrols to where the suspects were, and they were swiftly arrested.  All five people were arrested including a 17-year-old girl from Novar Gardens, a 14 and a 13-year-old girl both from Semaphore Park, a 15-year-old girl from Croydon and a 27-year-old man.

The 17-year-old girl was charged with aggravated robbery and will face Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday 11 June.  The remaining people will likely receive police bail to appear in court at a later date.

The service station attendant was not physically injured as a result of the incident.
