Cocaine seized in traffic stop

24 Jul 2024 6:41am

A man will face court after illicit substances were in his possession.

About 7.30pm Tuesday 23 July police were patrolling in the Brooklyn Park area when they saw a Volkswagen reversing into a block of units before a short time later it left through the back streets and popped out onto Sir Donald Bradman Drive.

Police activated their lights and pulled the car over. Officers spoke to the driver, a 23-year-old Hackham man, before they had cause to search the Volkswagen. Inside police allegedly located several bags of powders suspected to be cocaine and methamphetamine, 3 ice pipes and a cocaine purity test kit.

The items were seized and the man was reported possessing controlled drug and possessing equipment. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
