Copper Thief’s Ride Cut Short by Police

Just before 5pm this afternoon (Friday 13 December) police were called to Albert Street, Prospect, after reports of a man seen riding off on a bicycle with copper which he had allegedly just stolen from the rear of a premise.

Patrols quickly attended the area and located the man nearby on Prospect Road still in possession of the pipe.

The 56-year-old man from Blair Athol was arrested and charged with unlawfully on premises, property damage and theft.

He has been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 7 February.
