Drink driver crashes into pole at Torrensville

A drink driver collided with a Stobie pole at Torrensville overnight.

Police and emergency services were called to reports of a crash on Ashwin Parade, Torrensville about 1am on Friday 14 March.

A car had crashed into a Stobie pole and sustained significant front-end damage.

The driver, a 25-year-old Findon man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.148 - nearly three times the legal limit.

Luckily, he was not injured in the crash.

The driver was reported for drink driving and driving without due care and issued with a six-month instant loss of licence.

His vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

He was also fined for not updating the address details on his licence.
