Drink driver tries to hide at Findon

Police found a drink driver more than three times the limit at Findon last night.

A patrol observed a Toyota SUV perform a very average U-turn near the corner of Kenneth Street and Northumberland Avenue at Findon about 9.45pm on Tuesday 2 July.

The patrol pulled the vehicle over, however, the driver jumped out and ran into a nearby driveway and hid behind the bonnet of a parked car.

Police followed the man and found him.

The driver, a 38-year-old Findon man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.188 - more than three times the legal limit.

He was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

He was reported for drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
