Drugs found during traffic stop

A woman was arrested for drug and weapon offences after a routine traffic stop in the western suburbs earlier this week.

At 9.45pm on Tuesday 18 June, police stopped a Honda Accord on Addison Road at Pennington for a random driver test.

The driver submitted to a drug test where she provided a positive result to a prohibited illicit drug.

Police searched her vehicle and located a trafficable amount of methylamphetamine, a taser and drug paraphernalia.  Patrols searched the driver’s house and located an amount of cash, laser pointers and prescription drugs.

The 38-year-old woman from Largs Bay, was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled drug, money laundering, two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon and driving offences.  The woman appeared in Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday 19 June where she was remanded in custody.
