PD Duke arrested a man after he damaged a number of homes in Woodville North overnight.

Just before midnight Wednesday 24 July police were called to Sheridan Street and Farr Street after reports a man had walked along the streets damaging windows at a number of homes.

Western patrols and PD Duke responded, with PD Duke and his handler locating the suspect in the front yard of a home on Farr Street. Here the suspect refused police direction allegedly throwing a pot plant at police the dog handler and then assaulting PD Duke.

PD Duke managed to bring the man under control and he was taken into custody by officers. Thankfully PD Duke was not seriously injured.

The 46-year-old Adelaide man was taken to hospital for treatment. He has been charged with four counts of being unlawfully on premises, four counts of property damage, three counts of hinder police and one count of assault emergency services worker.

He will face a bedside hearing later today.
