Extreme speeder caught at Rosewater

A man has been arrested after being caught speeding and drink-driving at Mansfield Park.

It will be alleged that just after 2am today (Tuesday 11 June), police spotted a silver Toyota RAV4 station wagon driving west on Grand Junction Road in excess of 120km/h in a 60km/h zone.

Police stopped the car soon after at Rosewater and the driver underwent a breath test.

He returned a positive reading of 0.113.

The 42-year-old Gepps Cross man was charged with driving at an extreme speed, drink-driving and driving unlicenced.

He was issued a six-month immediate loss of licence notice and was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
