Intruder arrested at Bowden

Police have arrested a man for allegedly breaking into a building site at Bowden early this morning.

Just before 3am Saturday 30 November, police were called to a building site on Eighth Street after a man was seen on security cameras around the homes under construction.

Western District patrols attended along with PD Duke and found a front door had been forced open of a home near completion.

Cordons were set around the site and PD Duke commenced a search of the homes, quickly flushing out the suspect. He attempted to run off but was arrested by waiting patrols.

A white Kia sedan was also found nearby which had been reported stolen from a Valley View address on 22 November.

A 31-year-old man from Whyalla was charged with serious criminal trespass, being unlawfully on premises, illegal use of a motor vehicle and hindering police. He was refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
