Investigators from SA JACET, a partnership between SA Police Public Protection Branch and the Australian Federal Police, arrested a man this morning for child exploitation offences.
Officers attended a western suburbs address as a result of information received from the National Centre of Missing and Exploited Children.
An 18-year-old man was arrested for the possession and dissemination of child exploitation material and also production of child exploitation material. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
Digital Evidence Specialists conducted a forensic analysis at the scene and investigators expect that further charges may be identified once all seized electronic devices have been examined.
Detective Chief Inspector George Fenwick said, “This investigation is a clear reminder of the realities of child sexual exploitation and the proliferation of child sexual abuse on the internet.
“I remind everyone that all child exploitation images and videos are evidence of a real child being hurt, physically and mentally. We are absolute resolute in our commitment to prosecute anyone who chooses to utilise the internet to harm our most vulnerable.”
