Man arrested for theft from school at Beverley

A man has been arrested after he was found on school premises at Beverley last night.

Just before 11.45pm on Wednesday 3 July, witnesses reported hearing an alarm and seeing a man in the grounds of a school on East Ave.

Police were quickly on scene, where a  man ran from the scene onto East Avenue.

Patrols quickly set up cordons and called in dog operations to assist with PD Rusty locating the man hiding in a garden in Lewanick Street where he was arrested.

Police returned to the scene and located an amount of copper near where the man had run from.

A 46-year-old man from Findon has been charged with unlawfully on premises, going equipped and theft. He has been bailed to appear before the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 1 August.
