Man sought over deception

13 Dec 2024 12:56pm

Police are seeking help from the public to identify a man suspected to be involved in an alleged deception offence last year.

On 11 November 2023, a man had his vehicle broken into and his backpack containing personal identification and credit cards was stolen.

Later that day, there were several unauthorised transactions made on the victim’s debit and credit cards.

About two weeks later, the victim received a new credit card in the post which he did not apply for.

The victim found that unauthorised credit card and phone accounts had been opened, and further purchases had been made in the victim's name.

Police have obtained an image of a suspect involved in the deception and are seeking help from the public to identify him.

Anyone who can identify the man or has any other information that may assist the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at www.crimestopperssa.com.au or on 1800 333 000 and quote reference #24-207M. You can remain anonymous.
