A vehicle, suspected of being stolen, was seized for examination after being stopped at a driver testing station on Monday.

Police were conducting a driver testing site on James Melrose Road, Adelaide Airport about 6pm on Monday 10 March when a white Mitsubishi van approached them at speed and initially changed lanes away from the testing site.

The driver did follow directions to pull into the testing site and tested positive to methamphetamine.

Checks revealed the driver, a 56-year-old West Beach man, was currently disqualified from driving.

A closer examination of the vehicle revealed it was displaying two different number plates on the front and rear.

The man was reported for drive disqualified, drug driving and drive with unassigned plates and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

The van will be forensically examined.
