06 Mar 2025 9:04am

Swift work by Western District patrols has resulted in two men being arrested following service station robberies in the western suburbs this morning.

At 1.10 am Thursday 6 March, three men entered the service station on Port Road, West Croydon armed with an axe and demanded cash from the console operator.

They stole a small quantity of cash and ran from the scene.

A short time later at 1.40am the same three men entered a service station on South Road, Angle Park and threatened the staff member with the axe and stole cash from the till.

The trio ran from the scene and made off in Suzuki hatchback.

Luckily neither of the staff members involved in the incidents were injured.

At 1.55am patrols spotted the Suzuki driving on South Road, West Hindmarsh and called in PolAir to assist from above.

The occupants were seen to dump items from the vehicle on Nicolls Terrace Woodville West.

Police searched the area and located a till and an axe and a pair of gloves.

The vehicle was followed onto West Lakes Boulevard where two men were arrested without incident.

Police searched the vehicle and located the axe and an amount of cash.

The vehicle is not reported as stolen.

Two 18-year-old men from Davoren Park and of no fixed address have been charged with two counts of robbery and will appear before the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Police are still searching for the third suspect.
