A man and woman have been arrested after being found in a stolen car with drugs.
At 10.30pm last night (Wednesday 26 March), police observed a green Holden sedan on South Road at Mile End with registration plates that weren’t assigned to that vehicle. The vehicle was stopped, and police had a conversation with its occupants. Checks on the vehicles VIN confirmed the vehicle had been stolen from Virginia on 11 October 2024.
The vehicle and its occupants were searched, and police located a quantity of methamphetamine, a clear substance suspected of being fantasy, numerous mobile phones, a knife, scales, and approximately $4000 cash.
The driver, a 34-year-old man from Black Forest was arrested and charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, drive disqualified, drive with unassigned plates and traffic a controlled drug.
The passenger, a 34-year-old woman from Vale Park was also arrested for traffic a controlled drug and carry an offensive weapon.
Both have been refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
