Unit fire at Ridleyton

About 1.50am police and MFS were called to a property on Blight Street after reports that a two-story unit was on fire.

The fire was quickly contained by MFS crews but extensive damage was caused to the ground level of the home.

Thankfully the occupant was not home and the time and there were no reported injuries.

Although the investigation is in its initial stages police believe the fire may have been deliberately lit. Crime Scene Investigators will be attending the scene this morning to assist with the investigation.
