Driver caught at extreme speeds

12 Dec 2024 7:05am

A driver has been caught almost double the speed limit in the state's mid north last night.

About 8pm on Wednesday 11 December, Kadina Police were conducting speed detection duties on the Copper Coast Highway at Port Arthur when they detected a silver Holden sedan travelling at 186km/h in a 100km/h zone.

Patrols stopped the driver a short distance away on the highway and had a conversation with the driver.

The 58-year-old man from Plympton South was reported for aggravated driving at extreme speed and was issued a 12 month loss of licence. His vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to appear in the Magistrates Court at a later date.
