Driver loses licence after Solomontown crash

A driver will appear in court after a crash at Solomontown yesterday.

It will be alleged that just before 8pm on Sunday 18 August, police were called to Warnertown Road after reports of a two-car crash.

A white Toyota Hilux had crashed into the rear of a white Mitsubishi Triton near the intersection of the Main Road roundabout.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 43-year-old Lewiston man was not injured.

The Toyota driver, a 46-year-old man from Western Australia underwent a breath test and returned a positive reading of 0.155.

He was reported for drink-driving, he was issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and his car was impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
