Guns and drugs seized

Just before 9am (Tuesday 17 December) following an investigation, Kadina police attended a home in Jerusalem to conduct a search.

Inside police located six gel blaster firearms - three handguns and three assault rifles as well as 21 cannabis plants being grown hydroponically inside.

A 35-year-old man from the address was reported for cultivating a commercial trafficable amount of cannabis plants and for possessing firearms without holding a firearms licence. He will be summonsed to the Kadina Magistrates Court at a later date.

This is a timely reminder to the public, that gel blasters are classified as a firearm under the Firearms Act.
