Three arrested after pursuit

Three people have been arrested following a pursuit in the Yorke Peninsula early this morning.

Just after 1am Saturday 28 September, police spotted a stolen Kia SUV at Sunnyvale heading south towards Port Wakefield.

The Kia SUV was stolen from a Wynn Vale home on 23 September.

PolAir was able to track the Kia as it continued through the townships of Port Wakefield and Dublin. Patrols set up spikes on the Port Wakefield Highway and were able to safely immobilise the vehicle. The Kia came to a stop shortly after at Lower Light and the three occupants were arrested.

A 17-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man from Salisbury East, and a 23-year-old man from the Yorke Peninsula, were all charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle. The girl was further charged with dangerous driving to escape police pursuit and driving unlicenced.

They have been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court on 8 November and Magistrates Court on 7 November respectively.
