Traffic operation nets seven drink-drivers

Seven drivers were caught driving under the influence during the weekend in the Yorke Peninsula.

A 35-year-old Edithburgh woman recorded a breath test reading of 0.124. A 37-year-old Edithburgh woman recorded a breath test reading of 0.106. A 45-year-old Yorketown man recorded a breath test reading of 0.101. They were all issued six-month immediate loss of licence notices, were reported for drink-driving and will be summonsed to appear the Maitland Magistrates Court at a later date.

A 23-year-old Edithburgh man recorded a breath test reading of 0.076. A 38-year-old Coobowie woman recorded a breath test reading of 0.064. A 19-year-old man from Point Turton recorded a breath test reading of 0.052 and a 72-year-old woman from Port Vincent recorded a breath test reading of 0.054. All four drivers were issued an expiation notice for $951 and four demerit points.

Sergeant Tristan Graham from Yorke Mid North Highway Patrol said "It is disappointing that all of the drivers caught were Yorke Peninsula locals putting the lives of themselves and others within their own community at risk".
