YP drink drivers

Six drivers were caught drink driving by Yorke Mid North Highway Patrols in the past week on the Yorke Peninsula.

About 11.30pm on Monday 11 November, a 33-year-old man from Stirling was caught in Ardrossan with a blood alcohol reading of 0.157. He was reported for drink driving and lost his licence on the spot for 12 months. He will be summonsed to court at a later date.

Just after 10.30pm on Tuesday 12 November, a 42-year-old man from Price was caught driving in Price with a blood alcohol reading of 0.084. He was reported for drink driving and lost his licence on the spot for six months. He will be summonsed to court at a later date.

Just after 10pm on Thursday 14 November, a 52-year-old man from Sheaoak Flat was caught driving in Ardrossan with a blood alcohol reading of 0.070. He was reported for drink driving and lost his licence on the spot for six months. He will be summonsed to court at a later date.

Just after 9.30pm on Friday 15 November, a 33-year-old man from Mount Barker was caught driving in Warooka with a blood alcohol reading of 0.057.  He was issued a $951 fine.

About 12.30am on Saturday 16 November, a 37-year-old man from Stansbury was caught driving in Coobowie with a blood alcohol reading of 0.111. He was reported for drink driving and lost his licence on the spot for six months. He will be summonsed to court at a later date.

Just after 9pm on Saturday, a 36-year-old man from Warooka was caught driving in Warooka with a blood alcohol reading of 0.082. He was reported for drink driving and lost his licence on the spot for six months. He will be summonsed to court at a later date.

Sergeant Tristan GRAHAM of Yorke Mid North Highway Patrol said, "It continues to be a significant concern that members of our community are willing to put their lives, the lives of their loved ones and other road users at risk by drink driving. Police will continue to work closely with the community and licenced premises to remove these dangerous drivers from our roads. The actions of these drivers is selfish and must stop."
